Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with Polystack Digital LLC.

Who We Are

What is Polystack Digital LLC?

Polystack Digital LLC is a digital product studio headquartered in Laguna Beach, CA. We specialize in SaaS application development and custom web design for founders, startups, and small businesses. We operate as a lean, focused studio where every project receives direct, hands-on attention from an experienced developer who has built and shipped real software products.

Who founded Polystack Digital LLC?

Polystack Digital LLC was founded by a solo software developer with a deep passion for building and shipping real digital products. With years of experience developing SaaS applications, app extensions, and high-performance websites, the studio was created out of a belief that great software shouldn't be exclusive to well-funded companies. Founders, startups, and small businesses deserve the same level of technical quality. That's exactly what Polystack Digital LLC delivers.

Where is Polystack Digital LLC located?

We are headquartered in Laguna Beach, CA. However, we serve clients across the entire United States and work remotely with businesses wherever they are located. Geography is never a barrier to working with us.

Is Polystack Digital LLC a large agency or a freelancer?

Neither. We sit intentionally in between. Large agencies are often slow, expensive, and bloated with overhead. Independent freelancers can be inconsistent and limited in scope. Polystack Digital LLC operates as a focused studio so that it's lean enough for us to move fast and communicate clearly, experienced enough to handle complex technical projects from start to finish.

Does Polystack Digital LLC build its own products?

Yes, and that's one of our biggest differentiators. We actively build and maintain our own software products. This means when you work with us, you're working with a team that has personally lived every stage of designing, developing, launching, and growing a digital product. We don't just consult. We build.

What We Do

What services does Polystack Digital LLC offer?

We offer two core services. The first is SaaS and digital product development where we design, develop, and launch software applications from the ground up, including MVPs, app extensions, and full-scale SaaS platforms. The second is custom web design for small businesses where we build hand-coded, mobile-first websites built to rank on Google and convert visitors into customers.

What types of clients do you work with?

We work with three primary types of clients. First, founders and entrepreneurs who have a software idea and need a technical partner to bring it to life. Second, early-stage startups that need an MVP built quickly and cleanly. Third, small businesses that need a professional, high-performance website to establish or improve their digital presence. If you fall into any of these categories, we're likely a strong fit.

Do you work with clients outside of California?

Absolutely. We serve clients nationwide and operate fully remotely. All communication, project management, and delivery happens digitally, so location is never a constraint. We've built products for clients across the country and are fully equipped to handle remote engagements of any scope.

What industries do you serve?

We don't restrict ourselves to a single industry. Our SaaS development experience spans automotive research, sports analytics, productivity tools, and browser-based utilities. Our web design clients include contractors, fitness studios, restaurants, e-commerce brands, and professional service firms. If your business needs a digital product or a better web presence, we can help regardless of industry.

Do you offer ongoing support after a project is delivered?

Yes. All of our web design plans include ongoing support, and our SaaS development retainer is specifically designed for post-launch maintenance, feature development, and scaling support. We don't disappear after delivery. We stay invested in the long-term success of every product we build.

Web Design Service

What makes your web design service different from other agencies or freelancers?

Every website we build is 100% hand-coded from scratch. We don't use WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or any page builders. This means your site loads faster, ranks better on Google, is more secure, and is fully custom to your brand. Most agencies and freelancers at our price point rely on templates and page builders, we don't. You get a genuinely custom product at a price that reflects where we are in our growth as a studio.

How many pages are included in a standard website build?

Both our Monthly and Lump Sum plans include up to 5 pages as standard. Additional pages can be added at $100 per page on either plan. If your project requires significantly more pages or complex functionality, we'll scope it individually and provide a custom quote.

What is included in the Monthly plan?

The Monthly plan at $150/month includes everything you need to get online and grow: $0 down with no upfront cost, hosting, up to 5 pages, custom hand-coded design, mobile-first and fully responsive layout, SSL security, local SEO setup and optimization, Google Business Profile setup, contact forms and lead capture, unlimited edits, lifetime updates, and 24/7 support and feedback. A 6-month minimum contract is required.

What is included in the Lump Sum plan?

The Lump Sum plan starts at $3,000 and includes a full custom hand-coded design, up to 5 pages, mobile-first and fully responsive layout, SSL security, SEO foundation, local SEO setup and optimization, Google Business Profile setup, contact forms and lead capture, lifetime updates, and 24/7 support and feedback. Hosting is available at an additional $20/month after delivery. An unlimited edits retainer is available as an add-on at $50/month. A 6-month minimum contract is required.

Why do you require a minimum contract?

The 6-month minimum contract exists to protect both parties. Building, launching, and optimizing a website takes time to produce measurable results, especially on the SEO side. A 6-month commitment gives us enough runway to deliver real, meaningful outcomes for your business rather than a rushed deliverable with no follow-through. It also ensures we can plan our workload and give your project the attention it deserves.

How long does it take to build a website?

A standard 5-page website typically takes 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on how quickly content, copy, and feedback are provided by the client. Larger or more complex projects may take longer. We'll give you a clear timeline estimate during our initial consultation before any work begins.

Will my website rank on Google?

We build every website with SEO fundamentals built in: clean code structure, fast load times, mobile-first design, meta tags, local SEO optimization, and Google Business Profile setup. These are strong foundations for search visibility. However, SEO is a long-term investment and rankings are influenced by many factors including competition, content quality, and domain authority. We set you up for success, but we don't guarantee specific rankings, and anyone who does is being dishonest.

What does "lifetime updates" mean?

Lifetime updates refer to ongoing platform, browser, and security compatibility updates for the duration of our engagement. This means we keep your site technically current, ensuring it renders correctly across browsers, stays secure, and remains compatible with evolving web standards. It does not mean unlimited redesigns or new feature additions, which fall under the unlimited edits add-on.

What does "unlimited edits" mean?

Unlimited edits covers small, existing content changes made to your website during our engagement. This includes things like updating contact information, swapping images or logos, adjusting text copy, or making minor styling changes. It does not include adding new pages, building new features, or redesigning existing layouts. Those requests are scoped and quoted separately.

SaaS Development Service

What is the SaaS Development service?

Our SaaS Development service is a case-by-case engagement where we design, develop, and launch custom software applications for founders and startups. This includes everything from full SaaS architecture and system design to user authentication, subscription billing, API integrations, cloud infrastructure, and post-launch support. Every engagement is scoped individually based on the complexity and requirements of your specific product.

Why is SaaS Development listed as early access?

We've deliberately positioned our SaaS Development service as early access to ensure every client receives the full depth of attention their product deserves. Rather than taking on unlimited projects simultaneously, we selectively onboard clients whose products align with our technical strengths and available capacity. This keeps quality high and communication tight, which ultimately benefits you as a client.

How is SaaS Development priced?

SaaS Development pricing is not published as a fixed rate because every product is different. Scope, complexity, feature set, timeline, and technology requirements all impact the final cost. We offer both a lump sum engagement for full product builds and a monthly retainer for ongoing development and maintenance. All pricing is determined after a discovery call where we fully understand your product and goals. Contact us to start that conversation.

What is the difference between the Lump Sum and Monthly Retainer for SaaS Development?

The Lump Sum engagement covers the full build, from concept to launched product. This includes architecture design, UI/UX, development, integrations, infrastructure, and post-launch handoff. The Monthly Retainer is a post-launch partnership designed to keep your product healthy and growing, covering ongoing feature development, bug fixes, performance monitoring, security updates, and scaling support. Many clients start with a Lump Sum build and transition into a Monthly Retainer after launch.

Do you build app extensions?

Yes. Chrome extension and browser-based tool development is one of our core specializations. We have personally built and published multiple Chrome extensions to the Chrome Web Store under Polystack Digital LLC, giving us direct, real-world experience with the full development and publishing process, including Google's permission policies, manifest requirements, and review process.

Can you help me if I already have a partially built product?

Absolutely. We regularly work with founders who have an existing codebase that needs to be cleaned up, completed, or scaled. We'll evaluate what's already been built, identify gaps and technical debt, and develop a clear plan to get the product to a shippable state. You don't need to start from scratch to work with us.

Working With Us

How do I get started?

Getting started is straightforward. For web design, you can book a meeting directly through our website or request a free quote. For SaaS Development, reach out through our contact form and we'll schedule a discovery call to understand your project before discussing scope and pricing. There's no obligation and no pressure. Just an honest conversation about whether we're the right fit for your needs.

What does the onboarding process look like?

Once we've agreed on scope and pricing, we begin with a structured kickoff. For web design this includes gathering your brand assets, content, and site requirements. For SaaS Development this includes a detailed discovery session to map out your product architecture and feature roadmap. From there we establish a communication cadence, set clear milestones, and begin work with full transparency throughout.

How do you communicate with clients during a project?

We maintain a dedicated project communication channel for every client engagement. You'll always know the current status of your project, what's coming next, and where to send feedback. We don't go dark in the middle of a project. Clear, consistent communication is a non-negotiable part of how we operate.

What do I need to provide to get started?

For web design clients, you'll need to provide your brand assets (logo, colors, fonts if you have them), written content for each page, and any reference sites you like. If you don't have these ready, we can discuss options during our initial consultation. For SaaS Development clients, you'll need a clear description of what your product does, who it serves, and what problem it solves. Everything else we can help you figure out.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. We're happy to sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before discussing the details of any sensitive project. Protecting your idea and intellectual property is something we take seriously.

Who owns the final product?

You do. Upon final payment and completion of the engagement, full ownership of all code, design assets, and deliverables transfers to you. We retain no ownership or licensing rights over anything we build for you.

Pricing & Billing

Do you offer payment plans?

Payment structures are discussed on a per-project basis. For web design, the Monthly plan is inherently a payment plan. You pay as you go with no upfront cost. For Lump Sum engagements, we typically structure payments as a deposit at kickoff and a final payment upon delivery. For SaaS Development, payment milestones are defined during scoping and tied to project deliverables.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. We believe in complete pricing transparency. Everything included in your plan is stated clearly upfront. Any additional costs such as third-party tools, hosting services, or out-of-scope requests are communicated and agreed upon before any charges are applied.

What payment methods do you accept?

We process all payments securely through Stripe. We accept all major credit and debit cards. Additional payment arrangements can be discussed during onboarding.

What happens if I want to cancel?

All plans require a 6-month minimum contract. Cancellations before the end of the minimum term are subject to the terms outlined in your service agreement. After the minimum term, you may cancel with 30 days written notice. We'll ensure a clean, professional offboarding with all assets and access transferred to you promptly.

Technical

What technology stack do you use?

Our primary frontend stack is Angular and TypeScript, delivering fast, modern, and maintainable web applications. For backend and cloud infrastructure we work with cloud-native tools and APIs tailored to each project's requirements. All websites are hand-coded with clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No page builders, no unnecessary dependencies.

Will my website work on mobile devices?

Every website we build is mobile-first by design. We build and test across all major screen sizes and devices before launch. Mobile performance and responsiveness are never an afterthought. They're built into our process from day one.

How fast will my website load?

We target sub-1-second load times on all websites we build. By avoiding page builders, minimizing dependencies, and writing clean, optimized code, our sites consistently outperform template-based competitors on Google PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals scores.

Can you integrate third-party tools into my website or SaaS product?

Yes. Third-party API design and integration is a core part of both our web design and SaaS development services. Common integrations include payment processors like Stripe, email marketing platforms like MailerLite, Google Analytics, CRM tools, booking systems, and custom APIs. If you have a specific integration in mind, ask us about it during your consultation.
